Die Juniorprofessur auf der ICA 2023 in Toronto
Anlässlich der 73. Konferenz der International Communication Association (ICA) reisen Adrian Meier und Julius Klingelhoefer nach Toronto, um dort ihre jüngste Forschung vorzustellen und gemeinsam mit Wissenschaftler:innen aus der ganzen Welt zu diskutieren. Das diesjährige Motto der Konferenz lautet „Reclaiming Authenticity in Communication“. Dabei stehen Fragen nach der Veränderung von Authentizität sowie daraus resultierende soziale, politische und kulturelle Folgen im Mittelpunkt des wissenschaftlichen Diskurses.
Insgesamt stellt die Juniorprofessur auf der Vor- und Hauptkonferenz neun Beiträge vor. Ein Highlight ist dabei das von Adrian Meier, Nicole Ellison und Patti Valkenburg organisierte Panel zur aktuellen Diskussion um die Unterscheidung in aktive und passive Social Media Nutzung. Das Panel wird von Leonard Reinecke moderiert und enthält Beiträge von bedeutenden Forscher:innen von Universitäten und von Meta (Facebook, Instagram). Zudem wird Adrian Meier mit der Konferenz offiziell sein Amt als Secretary der Communication & Technology Division der ICA antreten.
